The way-finder is an eight legged stave derived from the Christian era of Northern Europe.. It is said to help the wearer to find their way through bad weather and is most often related to sea travel. It is often referred to as the "Viking Compass" though it isn't technically from that era. It is most often backed up by the Huld manuscript, which was published in 1860. The stave is believed to be older than that, but not from the Viking era itself.
