Mehndi Tattoo Designs

Mehndi is an absolutely beautiful and intricate art form deriving from the Hindu culture. It is done with a paste made from the Henna plant that is used to stain the skin in various patterns and for various purposes. The most commonly known reason is that of the wedding ceremony. The wife is painted with Henna on her hands and feet and she does not have to take up the mantle of the caretaker to the home until it is worn off.

Traditionally it is brown in color. The most popular designs are paisley in form, swirling and layered, opposed or filled by static linear patterns.
