Jesus Tattoo Designs

Jesus is said to be the Son of God. The way and the light, the purifier of sins. Many people will get Jesus tattooed on themselves in order to represent their faith, to show their love for Jesus, or in attempt to receive his blessing or protection.

He is quite often shown either praying or hung from a cross by nails in his wrists. While the praying represents that even Jesus had faith and spoke to his Father, the crucifixion represents his sacrifice for what he believed.

Symbolic rendering of the initials of the Latin words placed on the Cross as Jesus died, Iesus Nazarenus Rex Iudaeorum, "Jesus of Nazareth, King of the Jews." The inscription was placed on the Cross by Pilate's orders in Hebrew, Greek, and Latin. The initials have been used only since the thirteenth century. Before that the words were fully written or omitted. -CatholicCulture.org
