This tattoo design is a black drawing of two female symbols within a triangle. During the reign of the Nazis in Germany, Jewish lesbians were marked with part of their Star of David being a black triangle. This was to signify that they were immoral or lesser people. Gay males were marked with pink triangles to mark their "sin" and weakness as pink was seen as a feminine color . This is how the pink and black triangles came to be symbols used by each community. For some, embracing a symbol or word gives them power over it.
