This tattoo design is a black drawing of a neo-Bornean styled Eggplant flower with the underside of a tadpole belly (Tali Nyawa). This tattoo is used in the coming of age rituals among a few of the tribes in Borneo, Indonesia. One is placed on the front of each shoulder before the recipient goes on an adventure of exploration and freedom; finding their new life and learning of the world. Dots and a border have been added to the design to represent a pond and eggs at it's edges to further symbolize home and family.
