This tattoo design is a black drawing of a Bornean styled opened Mango with the underside of a tadpole belly (Tali Nyawa) in it's center. Another possible name for this design is jalaut. At this juncture it is difficult to know which is more accurate. The prior is a fruit, the latter a vegetable. Since the Plukenetia corniculata plant is newer to the region (a little over a hundred years at the time of this being written) than the native mango, we believe that the Mango theory to be a bit more solid even though many of the natives apply the term jalaut.
